Yes, "The Barton" is street legal. As of June 1998, upon publication in the Federal Register, the" Low Speed Vehicle" became officially recognized by the United States Federal Government. A" Low Speed Vehicle," as defined by its new classification, became legal to operate on public streets and roads throughout the United States. The legislation identified certain safety features and standards deemed acceptable for this type of vehicle to operate on public roads.
What is the speed range of "The Barton" LSV by B.I.G. MAN?
"The Barton" LSV will zoom up to 25 miles per hour momentarily. A "Low Speed Vehicle," as defined by its classification, is designed for street use and cannot exceed 25 miles per hour as a top speed.
Are there restrictions as to where I can drive "The Barton" LSV?
Yes, there are restrictions as to where you can drive a Low Speed Vehicle. Many states already have enacted legislation controlling the licensing and use of LSV's. A majority of the States specifically allow operation of LSV's on public roads with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less. What is the battery range of "The Barton LSV?"
"The Barton" LSV has a proven performance battery range of up to seventy-five (75) miles between full battery charges - one of the longest per mile battery ranges known in the LSV industry!
How do I charge the batteries and for how long?
The Barton" LSV charging system is designed to maximize the battery pack life while recharging the pack in the shortest time with available household current (110-volt, 15 amp AC outlet.) Note: New batteries will not deliver the full capabilities until they have been discharged and recharged 10 - 20 times. Batteries should be fully charged before first use in your new LSV, which takes approximately 10 hours. When recharging, it is preferable to have the battery pack at close to room temperature. Do not have in direct sunlight, on hot pavement or in excess heat of 110f or higher.
Where are the batteries located?
Two of the eight 6-volt, lead-acid, deep-cycle batteries are located under the hood and six are located under bench seat cushion. Lead-acid batteries are completely recyclable.

Currently, B.I.G. Man L.L.C. is anxiously awaiting the outcome of an independent field study to determine the actual amount of electricity required to recharge a completely discharged battery pack.
Does "The Barton" LSV have regenerative braking?
Yes, "The Barton" LSV does have regenerative braking, which means the regenerative braking allows the drive system of the vehicle to charge the batteries anytime the vehicle is in motion and the accelerator is not actuated (i.e. if the car is coasting down hill or is the braking is to slowing down).

How do I prepare the vehicle for storage?
To allow for extended storage time, the B.I.G. MAN LSV has several features to enhance battery life. The control system has been designed to minimize current drain during storage. A fully charged vehicle can be safely left (with the power key switch off), for up to two weeks without any significant loss of charge. Batteries should be fully charged before storing longer than 48 hours.
To eliminate battery charge loss due to control system current drain, the Master Disconnect Switch must be turned off if the vehicle will be left for more than two weeks.
For storing your vehicle for extended periods of time (60 days or more), it is recommended that you make arrangements to have the vehicle recharged every 60 days while in storage.
What type of warranty is on "The Barton" LSV?
B.I.G. MAN warrants from the date of delivery to first consumer, that each B.I.G. MAN Electric LSV sold as "NEW" and "UNUSED" and pre-delivered by an authorized B.I.G. MAN representative, will be free from any defect in material and/or workmanship for a period of:
ONE (1) YEAR, for private use owners, or
ONE (1) YEAR, for commercial use owners, or
SIXTY (60) DAYS, for rental use owners
Except as otherwise provided herein:
The non-transferable warranty for parts and labor shall include the Low Speed Vehicle in its entirety.
